Visitors
Whew! This past week we were busy hosting our friends from Arizona. The Weeds arrived on a sunny Saturday afternoon and stayed the week to celebrate the Fourth of July and Sophie's birthday. It was a wonderful, busy time. Shane enjoyed his time with his buddy "G" and we all enjoyed playing and cooing over baby "K".
Here is a list of our activites: Olympia Beach, Marina Beach, Seattle's Space Needle, Pike's Place Market, San Juan Island, and, Bainbridge Island. (I'll let Jim go into greater detail.)
We spent the Fourth of July by participating in the Children's Parade in downtown Edmonds. After an afternoon celebrating Sophie's birthday, we waited until 10:05 for the fireworks to light up the sky and the surrounding waters. It was beautiful watching the fireworks going off across the Sound in Kingston. We were able to walk down our street and watch the fireworks from the hillside. Edmonds put on a lovely display and we were happy afterwards not having to worry about traffic but being able to walk up the street and head for our beds.
